Dena Bowl
The Dena Bowl is a high school football rivalry between Chesapeake High School (CHS) and Northeast High School (NHS). Both schools are located in Pasadena, Maryland, in northern Anne Arundel County. Chesapeake currently leads the series 21–17. ==History== In 1974 Northeast high school had a large influx of students prompting the construction of Chesapeake to more evenly distribute the students. The 1st actual Dena Bowl did not kick-off till 1977 despite CHS being established in '76. This was simply because CHS did not have enough upper-classmen on the Varsity Football team. , The outcome is unknown. The first Dena Bowl in 1977 was not regarded as "The Dena Bowl" it was treated as an average county game, however the attendance was unusually high for the game. The first Dena Bowl in '77 was a Northeast victory 30–22. It wasn't until the '80s that the two schools started regarding each other as rivals (At the time Northeast considered Glen Burnie its main rival). The Dena Bowl is at its peak regarding popularity. ''The Capital Gazette'' held a poll regarding "What will be the best game of the 2015 high school football season?" The Dena bowl came in first in the poll, winning 875 of the 1838 votes.
